Much Ado About Emergencies

No, it's no secret around here that we just don't like Donald Trump. The would-be ruler of the free world has been an arrogant, narcissistic, sociopathic Dictator-In-Chief since he was on the campaign trail. He will say anything to make his base happy, even when he doesn't believe it himself. And I do mean anything. He doesn't even pay attention to the amount of crap that flies out of his mouth. He just spouts out what sounds good at the moment and has forgotten it five seconds later. Hence, the "fake news" and "I never said that" when we all heard him say it.

But Friday's news conference in the Rose Garden of the White House is going to be far harder to disavow. Far harder to defend. The ersatz President declared a National Emergency just so he could misappropriate funds for a wall that his own Cabinet, his own hand picked Department Heads, and 60+% of the people of this country say we don't need and don't want. Trump decided he was going to shove that wall down everyone's throat, regardless. His will, his wants, and his decision. It's all an ego thing for him.

Hell of an accusation, isn't it. But I know it. How, you ask? Because the next thing out of his mouth was...

“I didn’t need to do this, but I’d rather do it much faster.”

It was all broadcast out there on live TV. He answered the question saying he didn't have to do this. He did it because he wanted it done. It wasn't about the election coming up in 2020--it was about the election in 2020. And every single one of his cabinet members and staff inwardly cringed and a few of them outwardly cringed too.

This is a not needed, non-emergency emergency. A fake action taken for a man's ego and based on a series of lies not supported by the facts. Created by a bully who wants to be dictator for life, a king in a land that has declared that we will have no king.

Congress needs to get off its sycophantic butt and do something about this. The pussy-whipped GOP needs to decide whether it serves the people or the would-be ruler. Decide which is more important--the needs of the constituents that they supposedly represent or the Party and King Donald I. Stand up and stop this arrogant ass or the next national emergency will be declared by a Democrat President and there will be not thing one the Republicans can do about it. Precedent will be set and they let it happen on their watch. One more piece of legislative power taken away and given to a ruler.

And we will have no king in the United States.

The Radicalization of the United States
